Joe Castiglione

2007 will be Joe C's 25th year as a Red Sox Broadcaster (second  longest tenure in club history to Ned Martin's 32 years)..... He came to the Red Sox in 1983 after 2 years of Cleveland Indians  TV play-by-play (1979 & 1982)..and one year on Milwaukee Brewers cable-tv (1982) Joe also did TV play-by-play for Cleveland Cavaliers NBA games on cable during the 1981-82 season and did play-by-play of New England college basketball on NESN between 1984-1990) Joe anchored TV sports from 1972-82 in Cleveland and in Youngstown, Ohio from 1970-72. Joe has also done radio play-by-play of Youngstown State football an Syracuse University basketball  and done disc jockey and radio news anchoring in New Haven, Ct. and Westfield. Ma.

The native of Hamden, Ct is a 1968 graduate of Colgate University with an M.S. in TV-Radio from Syracuse University in 1970 Joe has taught broadcasting courses at Northeastern University since 1985 and at Franklin Pierce College in Rindge, New Hampshire since 1997. He has also served the Jimmy  Fund in its fund-raising efforts since 1990 and has authored a  book, Broadcast Rites and Sites....I Heard it on the Radio with the Boston Red Sox.

Joe and his wife Janice,who married in 1971 have 3  children...Duke, a TV sports anchor in New York City, Dr. Tom, a medical resident at Leahy Clinic and Kate, a production manager at a Norwood Production company.
