Possible delay in stimulus checks due to POTUS Trump's signature

There could potentially be a delay in American citizens receiving Coronavirus stimulus payments due to a last minute change to the physical stimulus checks. President Trump insisted his name be printed on every single check that went out, with reports saying that added programming change could cause a slight setback with getting out the checks as quickly as they anticipated. However, there are conflicting reports as to originally when the checks were supposed to hit the hands of Americans. State Treasurer Steve Mnuchin made the statement at the beginning of April that he is committing to getting checks out in not 3 weeks but 2 weeks, which is indeed this week. Now, an official from the Treasury Department told media outlets such as the NBC News (when asked about the release dates), that the checks “are scheduled to go out on time and exactly as planned, there is absolutely no delay whatsoever.” It that were the case, everyone should be getting their physical checks this week like Mnuchin originally said...

If you are one of the thousands of Americans who are not getting a physical check and have direct deposit, this will not affect you. It is a possible delay in the physical checks being mailed to your house due to the added name of President Trump in the memo line. My take on this is double-sided. On the one hand, who cares if the checks are delayed by a couple of days or even a week due to this added change. I suppose that might be easy for me to say seeing as how I'm still working and am not one of the thousands who are eagerly waiting by their mailboxes for it. On the other hand, I think it's a little ridiculous to halt production or start over just to add your name to the check and delay something further (if this is indeed true). I would not be surprised at all though if President Trump saw or heard the checks did not have his name on it and called Steve Mnuchin to make a change to them, thus causing a delay.

Of course those on the left are doing their thing and heavily criticizing President Trump for potentially delaying the checks, claiming the cause was for his own selfish gain to promote himself while thousands are in need. It's just another thing they found to criticize Trump for....

The main takeaway here is if you are expecting a physical check, be prepared for it not to arrive until next week. The reason, most likely due to that last minute adding of the President's name. Is this delay a big deal (as the left is complaining about) in the grand scheme of things? Do you care that President Trump insisted on having his name on the stimulus checks? Would you rather the checks get out as soon as possible or do you not mind waiting a little longer to have his named added? Let us know in the comments.
