E. Reese Hopkins established his career in radio via the scenic route. Upon graduation from New York’s Fordham University in 1991, (Under a different name.) Reese moved from his Queens neighborhood to the East Village in Manhattan to pursue a career in dance and music. Soon, he auditioned and landed a coveted spot on the popular MTV program “Club MTV” with host Downtown Julie Brown.

After a two year stint with the MTV show Reese moved on to dance in music videos that included Young MC’s Grammy award winning, “Bust a Move” and LL Cool J’s, “This is How I’m Coming.” With four years under his belt in music videos, in 1995 Reese began to write and produce with his own Hip-Hop group, “Beatmarket” formed with his younger brother and two best friends. The group toured across the US and opened for established Hip-Hop acts that included KRS-One and Digable Planets. Beatmarket later released their independent debut, “Industry Rule #4,080.”

In 1999, the group disbanded amicably and Reese began a career as a logistics consultant for a large New York firm. (Logistechs Worldwide was purchased by a Canadian company called DYNAMEX. DYNAMEX sold Logistechs Worldwide to its competitor Choice Logistechs) )In 2000 Reese became the news anchor and personality on the Star & Buc Wild Morning Show on New York's Hot 97.1FM. Reese established himself as a credible journalist and co-host tackling news stories with newsmakers, politicians and community leaders alike.

Reese’s abilities were ultimately challenged on Tuesday, September 11, 2001 when during a live broadcast, terrorists hijacked four (4) commuter airliners crashing two into the World Trade Center Towers one mile south of the broadcast studio in New York City. Reese was trusted into covering the events as they unfolded. The station soon recognized him as the lead news correspondent for the station. A title never again held at the station.

With the growing popularity of Morning Show, Reese was soon featured in articles in the New York Daily News and The Washington Post, the nationally televised, Extra, CNN, MSNBC and as a panelist on The John Walsh Show (America’s Most Wanted) and BET Tonight with Ed Gordon.

In October of 2005, Reese left the Star & Buc Wild Show to pursue other interest and possibly his own show in a talk oriented format. Reese has produced shows on Howard Stern's, Howard 100 station on Sirius. He has also freelanced for established variety programing like MAD TV and SNL.
