The PinkRose Fashion Show

Saturday May 3rd, 2008

The PinkRose Fashion Show will take place on Saturday May 3rd, 2008 at the Venezia on the Waterfront in Boston. The evening featuring dinner, a fashion show, dancing and an auction, is PinkRose's largest fundraiser. Friends of PinkRose have a great time socializing at our annual fundraiser. Volunteering to help with this event is a great way to help the children left behind because of breast cancer. The PinkRose Foundation was established in 2003, as a 501 3 (c) non-profit foundation, with the goal of providing post-secondary scholarship assistance to children who have lost a parent to breast cancer. PinkRose informs the public about the causes of breast cancer found in our environment and encourages the use of organic products. For more information visit www.pinkrose.org/.

The Sixth Annual Worcester Walk-A-Thon To Cure Scleroderma will take place from the Bancroft School in Worcester, MA, on Sunday, May 4, 2008. Sign-in will begin at 10 a.m. in the Bancroft School Gymnasium, 110 Shore Drive, Worcester, and the 5K Walk around Indian Lake steps off at noon. Scleroderma is a chronic, often progressive, autoimmune disease. It literally means “hard skin” which can cause thickening and tightening of the skin, as well as causing damage to internal organs. It occurs about four times more often in women than in men, and also attacks children. Its cause is unknown, and presently there is no cure. Funds raised by the May 4 Walk will be used by the New England Chapter of the Scleroderma Foundation to help people with Scleroderma and their families cope with the disease through support programs, physician referrals, educational information and research. For further information, call the Chapter’s toll-free number in Topsfield – 888-525-0658 or visit www.scleroderma.org/chapter/newengland/2008WorcesterWalk.htm.
